Please arrive promptly at your scheduled appointment time.
Some tests require a 12-hour fast. For example, if your appointment is at 09:00 on Saturday morning, please have your last meal by 21:00 on Friday evening.
Please ensure you are well hydrated on arrival for your appointment. This requires a minimum of 500–1000ml of water, consumed at least 90 minutes beforehand.
Most packages require a urine sample on the day, and being well hydrated will help with this. It will also make blood draws easier.
-
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted by a member of the Precision Blood Labs team.
We will take your details and gather some background information to understand why you're having your bloodwork done. This will include questions about your lifestyle, exercise habits, daily nutrition, and hydration status.
It will be one of the most relaxed and comfortable conversations you've had about your health in years.
-
We endeavor to have your results ready within 3–5 working days; however, results can take up to 7 working days.
If, for any reason, there is an insufficient blood sample, the lab may prioritise checking your main health markers. Where a particular marker shows an abnormal result, the lab may re-run that test for clarification.
This will add to the overall turnaround time.
-
If your appointment is later in the day, please bring some food or a snack to eat after your sample has been taken.
We recommend staying hydrated and avoid strenuous activities 24-48 hours prior to your appointment as this can affect the accuracy of your test.
-
When someone is dehydrated, it can be significantly more difficult to draw blood. Similarly, if you are very cold on the day or have a condition affecting your vasculature, this may also make the process more challenging.
At Precision Blood Labs, we accommodate everyone and do our very best to ensure you have a positive and worthwhile experience.
Please let us know in advance if you have a history of difficult blood draws.
